NEW PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
Alex James has been appointed the new Professional at the Catterick Golf Club with effect from the 1st March 2011.
Alex has spent the past two years working at De Vere Oulton Hall as Membership Manager and Teaching Professional. Prior to this Alex spent four years working at the Royal St. David’s Golf Club as an Assistant Professional, during which time he successfully completed the PGA Foundation Degree Course in Professional golf.
Alex has a wide range of coaching experience from beginners to Internationals. At Royal St. David’s he was the club’s primary coach and helped to organise the junior section. At De Vere Oulton Hall he has developed a strong client base for both individual and group lessons. Alex has also delivered Tri-golf sessions in local schools on behalf of Golf Development Wales and Leeds City Council.
Alex represented the University of Stirling and the BB&O County Union as an amateur, and in 2006 and 2007 was the PGA Welsh Assistant’s Champion. Alex continues to play actively on the PGA North Region in Pro-Ams and Order of Merit events.
