Alex James has been a PGA Professional for 9 years and has been the Head Professional at the Catterick Golf Club since March 2011.

 

Prior to this Alex worked at De Vere Oulton Hall in Leeds and Royal St. David’s Golf Club in North Wales. As a player Alex won the 2006 and 2007 PGA Welsh Assistants Championship and has competed on the European Challenge Tour.

 

The Pro Shop

 

The shop was completely refurbished in 2011 to provide a clean modern retail environment. Alex is a member of the Foremost buying group and stocks a wide range of top brands at very competitive prices including NIKE, TAYLORMADE, ADIDAS, CALLAWAY, SUNICE, SRIXON, BEN ROSS and GREEN LAMB.

 

Custom fitting is available and recommended for all clubs and the shop has a wide range of demo clubs to try as well as offering a full re-gripping and repair service.

 

Golf Lessons

 

Alex is developing a great reputation for coaching both locally and further afield and offers a range of lesson packages to suit golfers of all abilities. His coaching philosophy is based around developing strong set up fundamentals to allow the swing to be kept as simple and efficient as possible. Alex uses Swingreader video coaching technology in all lessons.

Golf Coaching Weeks

 

An intensive golfing week comprising of lessons in the mornings and competitions in the afternoons. Available March to September at Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Levels.
